
ViewSpot Studio
A smart retail display solution for creating and delivering dynamic visual interactive in-store experiences with built-in analytics.


ViewSpot Studio was the project I spent the most time on at Smith Micro, leading UX from start to finish. Back in 2019, the situation was pretty clunky — we only had a client app running on demo devices, and store “experiences” were coded by hand in React and provisioned one by one. Together with Ryan Schrebe (Product Manager), I kicked off the effort to build something better: a proper Studio app that would make the process scalable and easy for retailers to use. With a lean, agile approach and a small but great team — Ratko Ćaćić, Miroslav Laketić, and Ivan Beljin — we got from that rough start to an MVP live in production in just ten months. My background in marketing collateral production helped Ryan and me shape the early spec, figuring out what features stores actually needed and how the system should work in real life.
From there, ViewSpot grew into one of Smith Micro’s flagship products, deployed by major carriers like AT&T, Verizon, Cricket, and Orange. It gave retailers a single tool to build and schedule interactive in-store presentations, manage devices wirelessly, and track everything with built-in analytics.







Project Evolution
The product evolved through the full UX process: research, flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes — each step tested and refined before moving forward. What made it stand out was how quickly we got from “we should build something” to a working MVP, and then continued to expand it into a robust platform.












Analytics
The analytics system provides detailed reports on device usage, availability, shopping habits, and store performance, offering valuable insights to optimize retail operations.


Product Marketing






Alongside the software, our team produced videos, graphics, printed materials, and other collateral to support ViewSpot’s market presence.





Experience Production
Internally, we also used ViewSpot Studio ourselves to design custom in-store experiences for clients, showing its full potential through live, interactive retail setups.
