Smith Micro
Branding & Collateral

Branding assets and marketing collateral for Smith Micro and its clients, from graphics and videos to campaigns, supporting our products.

At Smith Micro I was also involved in branding and marketing work, often alongside a great design team — Marko Rosić, Ratko Ćaćić, Carla Carvalho, and Diogo Magalhaes. On the leadership side, I had the chance to work with Steve Mitchell (Graphics Director), Carla Fitzgerald (Marketing Director), Paula Yurkovic (Marketing Director), and Charlie Messman (VP of Marketing).

One of the highlights was a “Life at SMSI” video project, where some of my colleagues contributed footage from across the world. A lot of those same people ended up featured in the final cut — a video I directed, edited, and fully produced. It showed what it was like to work at SMSI, through interviews, office life, and scenes from two continents.

I also created a wide range of visual materials for Smith Micro brand — posters, product videos, online ads, brochures, covers, greetings, trade show graphics, and more. Later on my role expanded, and I wasn’t only designing but also leading and mentoring the design team as a working manager.

SafePath Collateral

SafePath is Smith Micro’s main revenue product — a family safety platform that mobile operators offer to their customers for parental controls, location tracking, and digital wellness.

On this project I worked on some of the design collateral together with my team. We created brochures, posters, in-store experience visuals, presentations, and videos, all focused on showing the product clearly and making it easier to present and promote.

Apart from SafePath, ViewSpot, and CommSuite, I also worked on collateral for the rest of Smith Micro’s portfolio. At one point the company had a full graphics department — with products like Moho (formerly Anime Studio), Poser, MotionArtist, Rebelle, and others — alongside long-standing titles such as StuffIt, NetWise, and Captivate. My contributions included videos, posters, box art, online ads, logos, and a mix of marketing and branding materials that gave each product a clear visual presence in the market.

Client Collateral

Working at Smith Micro often felt like running an in-house ad agency. Beyond our own products, we created customized collateral for some of the biggest carriers and partners — from brochures and posters to presentations, videos, and in-store experiences. Many of these were tied to white-label versions of our software, such as Boost Visual Voicemail and Boost Family Guard, AT&T Secure Family, Verizon Smart Family, Telus Track+, T-Mobile Moxie tablet software, Cricket and Verizon experiences for ViewSpot Studio, as well as projects for Sky, Sprint, and others.

These projects showed how much range our team had — from adapting software into white-label products to producing full campaigns that carriers could take straight to market. It was a mix of design, marketing, and storytelling that made Smith Micro feel less like just a software company and more like a creative partner to its clients.
